Weddings Planning a Wedding

We are delighted that you are interested in finding out more information about weddings at Lake Magdalene United Methodist Church! Your wedding is one of the most important milestone events in your life, and we want you to have the confidence in knowing that we will make every effort to assist you in planning a wedding that is not only beautiful, but meaningful and sacred as well. This Guide to Weddings booklet   was designed to give you some basic information regarding weddings hosted at our church. You should have Adobe Reader installed to view this booklet. There is a more printer friendly version below.

Cyndie Petrus is our Wedding Coordinator. If you have any questions or concerns, please direct them to her by email at or by phone at 813-625-7964.

Do I have to be a member to get married at Lake Magdalene?

No. However, we are committed to our faith and not just 'weddings' and we pray that God led you here for a reason. If you are not feeling fulfilled in your current church home, do not have a church to call home, or are just interested in gaining some information about our church outside of us hosting your wedding, please contact the office at 813-961-1254 or peruse our website to find out more about our Sunday services, community groups, missions, and more.

How far in advance should I reserve a wedding date?

Weddings can be scheduled up to twelve (12) months in advance.

Are there any dates that are not regularly available for weddings?

Because of the work involved in the breakdown and setup of our worship services for many of the regularly observed Christian Holidays and Sundays, the following days are not available for wedding ceremonies or receptions: Holy Week (Beginning Palm Sunday Weekend & Ending Easter Sunday), Thanksgiving week - January 1, and Sundays.

Do I need to pay a deposit? If so, how much, and when is it due?

The wedding deposit varies depending on the status of your affiliation with the church. Please see the attached schedule of fees available below for pricing and deposit information. The deposit is due at the time of reservation. Your wedding date cannot be officially put on the books until your deposit is received.

How much can I personalize my wedding in your church?

We totally understand the desire to personalize your special day. However, in order to reserve the reverence of this covenant, our pastors have the final authority on the appropriateness of music and other customs or traditions. Please discuss your ideas with the coordinator well in advance to ensure you are aware of each detail.
