Confirmation 2010

Dear Parents:

We are excited to invite your son/daughter to participate in the Confirmation Journey beginning January 24, 2010. Confirmation is a series of classes that provides students with the information they need to make their own personal decision to accept Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. The classes will run through March 20, 2010 and each session will be from 12:15-2:00pm (lunch included). Students will learn about sin and why we need God, the power of the Holy Spirit, the importance of serving the church, and the doctrine of the United Methodist Church. Each session will follow the same format and include a guest speaker and then small discussion groups. Each discussion group will be lead by two mentors, who are members of our church who can guide students through the weekly topics. Each session will wrap up with a homework assignment and a memory verse that will drive home the topic discussed and encourage students to apply what they have learned. A confirmation dinner will be held for students and their parents, to recognize the confirmands, on Friday March 21, 2010 and students will be confirmed on Sunday, March 28, 2010 during the 9:30 service. As a youth ministry, we are praying for the Confirmation Class of 2010. This is one of the most important decisions in a young Christian’s life, and we are excited and blessed to share this experience with your family.
