Get Involved - The Gift of Service
Jesus calls us to serve. What a great opportunity for You to provide a Gift of Service to the Lord and to LMUMC. LMUMC is reaching out to our guests and new residents of our community. As disciples of Christ, we want to show the warmth, spirit, fellowship and love to our neighbors from the members of our congregation.
We need your help. Come and join the small group teams on Sunday morning by providing a Gift of Service to one of the following Ministries:
- Parking Lot Ministry
- Greet guests in parking lot.
- Identify names and needs.
- Provide direction for class room or service locations.
- Deliver guests to the narthex to the Guest Relations Group.
- Guest Relations - Usher / Greeter
- Welcome guests.
- Answer questions.
- Provide listing of available services LMUMC offers.
- Escort guests to worship service.
- Introduce guests to pastor and after worship support group.
- Guest Relations - After Worship Service Support Group
- Make contact with guests after worship service.
- Visit guests' homes during the week
- Participate in Wednesday night dinner or church activity with guest, providing 3 to 4 contacts with guest after first visit.
- Guest Relations - Building the Gift of Service Support Group
- Working with Small Group leaders and church members to establish support personnel to participate in the Gift of Service Ministries.
Our Focus
We need 30 members each Sunday (10 per service) to support our Gift of Service commitments.
The Rewards
What does this mean for you? One hour each Sunday for 4 weeks - That represents 4 hours of service for one month.
The Results
You get involved with a growing church - you meet new friends in Christ - you provide a Gift of Service to the Lord - you learn how exciting and energizing it is to work and serve with friends in Christ.
Come join the fun and a growing and exciting new church organization. No experience required - each Small Group Ministry will provide you with training materials that allows your Gift of Service to be exciting and rewarding.
